Internet ExercisesChapter 13
2. CHRC. Go to the web site of the Canadian Human Rights Commission . Read about three recent or ongoing cases of job discrimination posted on the site. What organizations have been accused of discrimination? Which employment act(s) did these organizations violate? What exactly was done to violate these acts? Write a short paper summarizing these events. 3. Résumés. Read the article “15 Tips for Writing a Great Resume” by Ann Hackett. Use these tips to either: 1) write your résumé (if you don’t already have one); or 2) revise your résumé (if you already have one). Make sure your résumé matches the type of job you may be seeking after graduation. 4. Forecasting Supply and Demand. Visit the Statistics Canada web site and the Job Futures website. Look for information on employment trends. Briefly summarize your finding and explain how the information on these web sites can help an organization forecast supply and demand. 5. Outplacement. Find three Internet sites of companies that deal with outplacement of terminated employees. Write a one-paragraph summary of the services that each of these outplacement firms offers. |
